A Testimony of My Miraculous Cure of Chronic Hepatitis C Virus: Granted through the Intercession of Venerable Mother Veronica

Sister Fatima Nayaki, A.C.

Guest post by Sister Fatima Nayaki, A.C.

I am a member of the Sri Lanka Province of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation, founded by Venerable Mother Veronica of the Passion in 1868, at Bayonne, France. After having served in the Province for 12 years, on January 6, 1991, I was asked to go to Lahore, Pakistan by my Provincial Superior in Sri Lanka. I mastered the Urdhu language to begin my mission there, as a Principal of Mariam Sadeeqa School at Dogaich, in a remote poor area in Lahore. The School building was a multi-purpose shed with open brick walls and a flat roof with classes up to Metric with 400 pupils on roll.

I was 37 years old and at this time of strenuous work as a Principal of the School, and seeing to the construction of the School building as well, I suffered with anemia. In 1994 the doctor at Pakistan General Hospital diagnosed uterine fibroids and advised hysterectomy to be performed. As I was anemic, blood transfusion was administered during the surgery which resulted in severe allergic reactions, swelling of joints, indigestion and vomiting. The doctors were not able to diagnose the cause, and prescribed some anti allergy tablets as treatment. Finding no improvement in my health condition, I was asked by my Provincial Superior to return to Sri Lanka in 1996.

The allergy to proteins, pungent, oily and acidic food from which I suffered, gradually became very severe. Once I fainted in the washroom and hit my head against the wall and suffered from contusion of brain and lost my eye sight for a month. I was admitted twice to the ICU for severe allergic reactions and was treated. Yet the doctors in Sri Lanka were not able to diagnose the cause of my illness and give me the needed treatment for a cure.

In the year 2011, I attended a 5 day session of Project Planning at Caritas Jaffna. There I started vomiting blood and the bouts were quite frequent. The doctors diagnosed the case to be Cirrhosis of the Liver Portal Hypertension but were not willing to treat me. My intake of solid food and digestion was a real struggle and I started living only on liquid diet. A specialist of a Liver Unit at Ragama Medical Hospital was contacted and he suggested a Biopsy of the liver and if needed a liver transplant to be done.

Sister Carmella, the Provincial Superior, after hearing about the seriousness of my health condition from the medical report, was very much concerned and requested all the sisters of the Province, to pray to Mother Veronica for my cure. Fortunately the Superior General – Sister Agatha Mary from Bangalore, India was on visitation of the Sri Lanka Province at that time. She contacted India and found out that there was a Liver Unit at the Kurji Holy Family Hospital, Patna, Bihar.

She asked me to leave for India and go to the Apostolic Carmel Provincial House of the Northern Province, Patna. On January 4, 2012, I reached Patna. The Provincial Superior Sister Dipasha took me to Dr. Ajit Kumar Sinha MD, DNB, head of the Liver Unit of Kurji Holy Family Hospital. He asked for all the tests conducted in Sri Lanka to be repeated. The reports showed that I was infected with Hepatitis C Virus (HCV Genotype 3 A-2, 124, 476 copies). He was convinced that this was due to the blood transfusion given during the surgery in 1994.

The doctor prescribed a course of 24 ‘VIRRAFERON PEG’ injections one per week and 2 ‘RIBAVIRIN’ capsules after every meal. I was asked to sign an undertaking “Knowing the risk and benefit of the treatment, I submit myself for the treatment to Chronic Hepatitis C”. The course of medication started on February 10, 2012. I was admitted to the Hospital every Monday, and after the injection, was kept on observation and the next day brought back to the Convent. I went through intense suffering after each injection.

I could not pray, read, write, sleep and take my daily meals. After the sixth injection I took a bad turn. My Blood Pressure came down to 70/50, Hemoglobin 8.5, severe vomiting, sleeplessness, restlessness, failure of memory, giddiness, depression. The suffering was beyond any human endurance. I found myself vegetating in bed. The doctor was informed who insisted that I continue the course, to rule out completely the possibility of the infection reverting. My 3 month Visa was extended for 3 more months to continue the full course of the treatment. I was taken to the Hospital for the seventh injection on March 26th and for the eighth on April 2nd and was brought back to the Convent on March 27th and April 3rd respectively.

On April 5th, Holy Thursday, I was taken to the Chapel just to receive Holy Communion. On April 6th, Good Friday, my condition worsened. I fainted and vomited blood many times. I lost my vitality and was confined to bed. I felt that I was almost on the verge of death. It was Good Friday, the priests were not available to administer the Sacrament – Anointing of the Sick. Because of my medical condition, I couldn’t attend the services that day.

I kissed the Crucifix from my bed of pain at the time of Veneration of the Cross. I prayed to Mother Veronica to put a full stop for the rest of the sixteen injections and asked Jesus to pour out His Precious Blood into my HCV infected blood stream and liver and to heal me and make me whole.

On April 7, 2012: Holy Saturday, around 2.30 AM, I heard a sweet gentle voice calling out my name “Fatima, Fatima…” I got up on my own and I rushed to the door, thinking that the sisters were calling me. They would normally come to my room in the night to see to my condition, but I found no one there.

After three weeks of confinement to bed and utter helplessness, rising from my bed without anyone’s assistance was indeed a miracle. I was inspired to open the Bible and read. I read from the gospel of John, chapters 14-17 and relished the comforting message “Because I live and you will live also” (Jn.14:18-19). I experienced a deep joy and wellness which lingered throughout the day and I was convinced that through Mother Veronica’s intercession God gave me a new lease of life. From that moment onwards, the allergic reactions did not recur and I was able to take normal food and move about freely.

On April 8th, Easter Sunday, I attended Holy Mass, walking on my own to the Chapel and after the Mass went about seeing the sisters of the 3 Communities and the Provincial House in the Campus. The sisters were surprised and did not believe that I was healed so quickly and some even suspected that I could be pretending.

On April 13, 2012, Sister Dipasha took me to Dr. A.K. Sinha, though he had insisted earlier that the full course of injections was necessary, with the possibility of the infection reverting, agreed to stop the further course of injections and wrote in the report: “Now she is intolerant to Injections ‘VIRRAFERON PEG’ and 2 ‘RIBAVIRIN’ capsules stopped for Hepatitis C”.

On April 15, 2012, I was brought to Bangalore, to the Apostolic Carmel Generalate House. On May 2nd, I was taken to St. John’s Hospital in Bangalore for a second opinion by Sister Liceria.

Mrs. Felcy D’Souza, the PRO at the Hospital directed us to Dr. Harshad Devarbhavi, MD, DM, DNB, Professor and Head of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, at St. John’s Medical Hospital, Bangalore. This is one of the top, prestigious Medical Institutions in India. He reviewed all my reports and asked that all the tests be repeated. All the reports proved “Hepatitis C Virus not detected”. Hence there was no possibility of the virus reverting. He told me that I could return to Sri Lanka without any fear. On August 8, 2012, I returned to Sri Lanka, and continued my mission there enjoying good health to date without medication.

I attribute my miraculous cure from Chronic Hepatitis C Virus infection to Mother Veronica’s powerful intercession and with Jesus pouring out His Precious Blood.

The British artist is a devout Catholic convert and often feels what he calls a 'Divine Push' to paint tributes to Jesus, Our Lady and The Saints on significant landmark years or Feast Days - and to share them.

Dependent on prayer, especially to the Holy Spirit - his 2013 exhibition at London's Westminster Cathedral was called "Paintings From Prayer".

The eclectic work of Stephen B. Whatley is in collections worldwide and public collections including BBC Heritage, London Transport Museum, Newman University (UK), Westminster Cathedral, The Royal Collection of HM Queen Elizabeth II & The Carrollton School of The Sacred Heart, Miami, USA - whilst his series of 30 paintings commissioned by the Tower of London in 2000 are permanently reproduced throughout Tower Hill Underpass, outside Tower Hill Station - the main entrance to the Tower of London.

St. Ignatius Prayer for help with Depression:

O Christ Jesus
When all is darkness
And we feel our weakness and helplessness,
Give us the sense of Your Presence,
Your Love and Your Strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
In Your protecting love
And strengthening power,
So that nothing may frighten or worry us,
For, living close to You,
We shall see Your Hand,
Your Purpose, Your Will through all things.

Miracle of the Sun Witnessed on October 13, 2008 at Fatima Shrine in New Jersey

Signs, Wonders, and Miracles

During 2017 the Catholic Church is celebrating the 100 year anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima

Our Lady appeared in Fatima, Portugal to three shepherd children, Lucia dos Santos, and her two her cousins, Francisco and Jacinta Marto on numerous occasions in 1917.

Our Lady communicated messages to the children of great importance. However, one message from Our Lady included a great sign that would be seen on October 13, 1917 in Fatima, Portugal for people to believe. On this Holy day countless witnessed the Miracle of the Sun.

What makes this historic event even more interesting and factual is that the Miracle of the Sun was witnessed again on October 13, 2008 at The National Blue Army Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, (Asbury), Washington, NJ, USA.

This is the first time since 1917 that the Miracle of the Sun was witnessed the same day on October 13th. This is a documented story and the evidence is published on Christian-Miracles.com. Read the full story on this link: Miracle of the Sun Witnessed by Visitors at New Jersey Shrine

July 25, 2017 Message to Marija Pavlovic-Lunetti

"Dear children! Be prayer and a reflection of God's love for all those who are far from God and God's commandments. Little children, be faithful and determined in conversion and work on yourselves so that, for you, holiness of life may be truth; and encourage each other in the good through prayer, so that your life on earth may be more pleasant. A Powerful Prayer for God's Protection

Photograph by Loci B. Lenar

An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. - Luke 22:43

Psalm 91

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

They say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."

Surely he will save you
from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.

He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.

A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.

You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
If you say, "The LORD is my refuge,"
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.

For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

"Because they love me," says the LORD, "I will rescue them;
I will protect them, for they acknowledge my name.
They will call on me, and I will answer them;
I will be with them in trouble,
I will deliver them and honor them.
With long life I will satisfy them
and show them my salvation."

If you examine the photograph closely, sunlight is creating a beautiful and interesting reflection of Jesus on the right side of the window.

The reflection gives the appearance of a helmet being worn by Jesus and reminds us of the following scripture: "Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." (Ephesians 6:14-17)

A Harmonious Unity

Our World, in the heart and mind of God, is the "house of harmony and peace,"...it is the space in which everyone is able to find their proper place and feel "at home," because it is "good." All of creation forms a harmonious and good unity, but above all humanity, made in the image and likeness of God, is one family, in which relationships are marked by a true fraternity not only in words: the other person is a brother or sister to love, and our relationship with God, who is love, fidelity and goodness, mirrors every human relationship and brings harmony to the whole of creation.  -Pope Francis

Healing through the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick

By Loci B. Lenar

Prayerful Healing is written for anyone in need of encouraging words, especially families with children that are suffering from an illness. I was inspired to write the prayer as a result of a miraculous healing. With prayer, I was guided by Our Blessed Mother to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and healed of a heart ailment, including years of suffering painful headaches.

With the blessing and grace of God, I was healed of a heart arrhythmia known as Atrial Fibrillation (A-Fib). The medical condition was treated with Lanoxin, a cardiac medicine. However, I've not used the medication for over twenty years. I was treated for the medical disorder by Dr. Gilbert Mandel of Denville Associates of Internal Medicine, Denville, NJ. In addition, I was healed from years of suffering painful headaches after countless visits to physicians with treatments that went to no avail.

With the power of prayer and receiving the Anointing of the Sick - a sacrament that is administered through the Catholic church, I was healed and cured by God's grace of all medical issues. I requested the healing sacrament and was anointed with oil by Fr. Richard Tartaglia of Saint Mary's Church, Myers Avenue Denville, NJ, USA.

Scripture says the following: "Is anyone among you sick? He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven." (James 5: 14-15)

May God answer your prayers with divine favor and healing!

Prayers of Protection to Saint Michael the Archangel

Oh most Noble Prince of the Angelic Hierarchies
valorous warrior of Almighty God,
and zealous lover of His glory,
terror of the rebellious angels,
and love and delight of all the just ones,
my beloved Archangel Saint Michael,
desiring to be numbered among your devoted servants,
I, today offer and consecrate myself to you,
and place myself, my family,
and all I possess under your most powerful protection.

I entreat you not to look at how little, I,
as your servant have to offer,
being only a wretched sinner,
but to gaze, rather,
with favorable eve at the heartfelt affection
with which this offering is made,
and remember that if from this day onward
I am under your patronage,
you must during all my life assist me,
and procure for me the pardon of my many grievous offenses, and sins, the grace to love with all my heart my God,
my dear Saviour Jesus and my Sweet Mother Mary,
and obtain for me all the help necessary to arrive to my crown of glory.

Defend me always from my spiritual enemies,
particularly in the last moments of my life.

Come then oh Glorious Prince and succour me in my last struggle,
and with your powerful weapon cast far from me into the infernal abysses that prevaricator and proud angel that one day you prostrated in the celestial battle.

Saint Michael, defend us in our daily battle
so that we may not perish in the last Judgement.

***

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle,
be our protection against the malice and snares
of the devil.
May God rebuke him we humbly pray;
and do thou,
O Prince of the Heavenly host,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits
who wander through the world
seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Muslims rename mosque in honor of Mary, Mother of Jesus

News excerpt and photo from Aleteia.org: "A mosque in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) capital, has been renamed “Mary, Mother of Jesus.”

Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Abu Dhabi crown prince and deputy supreme commander of the UAE armed forces, ordered that the mosque be renamed to “consolidate bonds of humanity between followers of different religions.”"

Perhaps renaming the mosque to Mary, Mother of Jesus is a sign to pray for the conversion of Muslims that oppose Christianity.  -Loci B. Lenar

Our Lady's Monthly Message to Mirjana Soldo

MedjugorjeMiracles.com - Our Lady's Message of June 2, 2017

Message to Mirjana Soldo:

As in the other places where I have come to you, also here I am calling you to prayer. Pray for those who do not know my Son, for those who have not come to know the love of God, against sin, for the consecrated – for those whom my Son called to have love and the spirit of strength for you, for the Church.

Pray to my Son, and the love which you experience from His nearness will give you the strength to make you ready for the works of love which you will do in His name. My children, be ready. This time is a turning point. That is why I am calling you anew to faith and hope. I am showing you the way by which you need to go, and those are the words of the Gospel. Apostles of my love, the world is in such need of your arms raised towards Heaven, towards my Son, towards the Heavenly Father. Much humility and purity of heart are needed. Have trust in my Son and know that you can always be better.

My motherly heart desires for you, apostles of my love, to be little lights of the world, to illuminate there where darkness wants to begin to reign, to show the true way by your prayer and love, to save souls. I am with you. Thank you.

The Ascension of Jesus into Heaven

The Ascension of Jesus

(Feast of the Ascension is forty days after Easter)

Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”

He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.

They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” Acts 1:6-11

Fr. Andrew Apostoli spoke about the Fatima message and Mass was celebrated by Bishop James F. Checchio from the Diocese of Metuchen.

In 1917, Our Lady of Fatima appeared to 3 shepherd children, LĂºcia Santos, Jacinta de Jesus Marto and Francisco Marto in Portugal. Our Lady gave the three children messages known as the Three Secrets of Fatima.

Today on the anniversary of the miraculous apparitions, Pope Francis canonized Jacinta and Francisco in Portugal.

Centennial Painting on the 100th Anniversary of Our Lady of FĂ¡tima's Apparitions by artist Stephen B. Whatley | Flickr.com

News from artist Stephen B. Whatley:

A new tribute painting celebrating Our Lady of FĂ¡tima; painted with prayers in the days just before the centennial of the first miraculous apparition of The Blessed Virgin Mary on May 13, 1917, in FĂ¡tima, Portugal to three children, Lucia Santos and her cousins Jacinta and Francisco Marto.

On May 13, 2017 Pope Francis will travel to the Sacred Shrine in FĂ¡tima and pronounce Jacinta and Francisco - who both passed away as children - Saints.

British expressionist artist Stephen B. Whatley is a devout Catholic and often feels what he calls a 'Divine Push' to paint tributes to Jesus, Our Lady and The Saints on significant landmark years or Feast Days - and to share them.

Dependent on prayer, especially to the Holy Spirit - his 2013 exhibition at London's Westminster Cathedral was called "Paintings From Prayer" - the inspiration for this tribute painting included descriptions of Our Lady as experienced by the children and the statue above the The Sanctuary of Our Lady of FĂ¡tima - which Lucia Santos - who became Sister Lucia in 1928; and lived until the age of 97 in 2005 - pronounced the likeness to the vision of Our Lady that she and her cousins saw in 1917.

Our Lady's message was one of warning about subsequent world wars and the need for peace, through devotion to the Holy Trinity and praying The Rosary every day.

Blessings of peace, healing, light, love and hope to all who view this painting ~ in faith.

Prayer for Saint Joseph's Intercession

PRAYER TO SAINT JOSEPH, PATRON OF WORKERS

(May 1 is the Feast of St. Joseph, the Worker)

Glorious Saint Joseph, you are the pattern of all who work. Obtain for me, please, the grace to work conscientiously and to put devotion to duty before my selfish inclinations. Help me to labor in thankfulness and joy, for it is an honour to employ and to develop by my labour the gifts I have received from almighty God. Grant that I may work in orderliness, peace, moderation and patience without shrinking from weariness and difficulties. I offer my fatigue and perplexities as reparation for sin. I shall work, above all, with a pure intention and with detachment from self, having always before my eyes the hour of death and the accounting which I must then render of time ill-spent, of talents unemployed, of good undone, and of empty pride in success, which is so fatal to the work of God. For Jesus through Mary, all in imitation of you, good Saint Joseph. This shall be my motto in life and in death. Amen.

Francisco and Jacinta to be canonized during Pope Francis’ visit to Fatima on May 13, 2017

WAF USA – World Apostolate of Fatima U.S.A.

Pope Francis will canonize Blessed Francisco and Jacinta Marto at Mass during his visit to Fatima May 13, 2017, making them the youngest non-martyrs to ever be declared saints. The decision was made April 20 by a consistory of cardinals.

Pope St. John Paul II beatified Francisco, 11, and Jacinta, 10, on May 13, 2000, 83 years after the first apparition of the Blessed Mother at Fatima in 1917. It was during the May 13 apparition that Our Lady told the children she would take Francisco and Jacinta to heaven soon, but Lucia would remain on earth for “some time longer.”

The beatification of her two cousins was something Sister Lucia had asked for during her first meeting with Pope St. John Paul II on May 13, 1982 at Fatima. The Pope expressed his desire also to see the little shepherds soon beatified. Before the end of their meeting that day, they completed their visit in the Basilica at the tombs of Francisco and Jacinta.

Our Lady's Message of April 25, 2017

The Medjugorje Web - Apparitions of the Virgin Mary in Medjugorje

Our Lady's Message of April 25 to to Marija Pavlovic-Lunetti:

"Dear children! Love, pray and witness my presence to all those who are far away. By your witness and example, you can draw closer the hearts that are far from God and His grace. I am with you and intercede for each of you so that, with love and resoluteness, you may witness and encourage all those who are far from my Immaculate Heart. Thank you for having responded to my call."

Have a Blessed and Happy Easter

The Resurrection of Jesus

After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And suddenly there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. For fear of him the guards shook and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He has been raised from the dead, and indeed he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him.’ This is my message for you.” So they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came to him, took hold of his feet, and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”

Celebrating Fatima's 100 Years

CATECHIST Magazine: Five Lessons from Fatima

In the April/May 2017 issue of Catechist Magazine there's a feature story on the Five Lessons of Fatima by Patrice Fagnant-Macarthur.

Patrice writes in her article that it provides "tips for guiding children into the heart of the message" of Our Lady of Fatima.

In addition, a colorful stained glass window - photographed by Loci B. Lenar provides a graphical depiction of Our Lady of Fatima in this article.

Here is an excerpt from the article: One of the most fantastic aspects of Our Lady of Fatima’s message is that she entrusted it to children. Here are five lesson ideas to share and discuss with the children you know.

The importance of praying the Rosary for peace.

One of Our Lady of Fatima’s central messages was to pray the Rosary every day for peace. While the particulars of world conflict have changed since 1917, we continue to live in a world full of anger, violence, and war. Children are aware of this. Depending on their ages, they may be more or less aware of the global stage, but they are certainly aware of fighting in their own families, schools, or neighborhoods. They may feel powerless to help or make a difference.

Praying the Rosary is one thing that they can do to help change lives and hearts, starting with their own. While prayer is not a magic wand and God certainly does not always answer prayer on our timetable or in the way we think best, following the instructions of Mary to pray the Rosary can only help.

Good Friday Novena Prayer

Photograph by Loci B. Lenar

Jesus Christ,
Son of God made Man,
crowned with thorns,
bearing a scepter of a reed,
wearing a royal cloak purpled
with Your Precious Blood,
I venerate You as the Man of Sorrows
and acknowledge You as my Lord and King!

Jesus crucified,
I firmly renounce the devil
and detest all sin
that has torn me from Your loving friendship.
I pledge my loyalty to You,
my Saviour,
and beg You to make me Your own in sincerest love.
I promise to be faithful in service to You,
and to strive to become more pleasing to you
by avoiding every sin and its occasions,
by carrying out my duties
perfectly as a good Catholic,
and by practicing virtue.

Jesus crucified,
accept the homage I wish to render You
during this novena,
as a token of my sincerest appreciation
for the sorrows and sufferings
You have willingly borne to atone for my many sins
and to prove how much You love me.

I adore You as my very God,
Who willed to become Man
in order to save me from eternal death.

I thank You as my best Friend,
Who laid down Your life
as proof of the greatest love possible.

I ask pardon for having so little thought of You,
Jesus crucified,
and for having caused Your sorrows
and sufferings by the many sins I have committed.

I pray to You,
dearest Jesus,
for all the graces I need to know You,
to love You and serve You faithfully unto death,
and to save my soul.
Give me a tender and fervent devotion
to Your Sacred Passion by which I was redeemed,
venerating You especially in Holy Mass.
Teach me how to unite sorrows and sufferings
of my life with Your own.
Finally, through all Your sorrows and pains,
through Your Sacred Heart
glowing with love for me,
broken because of my want of love for You,
through the sorrows of Mary,
your Sorrowful Mother,
I ask for this special favour:

[Mention your request here...]

With childlike trust
I abandon myself to Your holy Will
concerning my request.

Prayer for Holy Week in preparation of Good Friday

Jesus Carries His Cross - Photograph by Loci B. Lenar

Prayer for Holy Week

Jesus my Lord, let me strengthen my courage by taking on the courage of all those people who have been "centurions" for me. Many have faced disasters and hard times with great constancy. The upper hand of evil never turned them against you. They kept going. Let me be like them, Lord. No matter what the cross, let me never stop declaring you to be "truly the Son of God," the source of my hope, the reason why I will never quit on life.

(Prayer from Catholic Online)

Commentary by Loci B. Lenar

On Good Friday, the cross is a reminder of Jesus sacrificing His life for the salvation of sinners.

With those words in mind, sunlight creates the appearance of a cross on the above statue of Jesus. It's more than coincidence that this photo shows Jesus carrying his cross. Interestingly enough, this statue is part of the Stations of the Cross next the Holy House at The National Blue Army Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, Washington, NJ. The shrine is part of the World Apostolate of Fatima, USA.

In two separate areas, two photos show sunlight creating similar rays of light around two statues of Jesus. Photographs were both taken in 2015 with my iPhone 6.

Catholic News Agency (CNA): 'via Blog this'

Buenos Aires, Argentina, April 13, 2017 / 12:43 am (CNA/EWTN News)

A bishop in the Argentine province in Santa Fe is investigating a Eucharistic host that appeared to bleed during adoration at a drug rehabilitation home.

Bishop Luis Fernandez of the Rafaela diocese announced that an investigation will be carried out to examine what took place earlier this week, when a group of young people were in Eucharistic adoration and saw a substance in the consecrated host that appeared to be blood.

On April 11, Tuesday of Holy Week, a group of young people were praying before the Blessed Sacrament at the San Miguel drug rehabilitation home in the Guemes neighborhood, when they noticed a change in the Eucharist.

Cross of Light Appears on Palm Sunday

Signs, Wonders, and Miracles

Palm Sunday 2017
By Loci B. Lenar

On Palm Sunday, a Cross of Light outlined with a shield appeared in the morning on my backyard fence in Mine Hill, NJ.

Scripture says, “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless.” Psalm 84:11

Palm Sunday is the start of Holy Week, and it's a time to reflect on the passion of Christ in preparation for Good Friday and the Resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday.

The first time this Cross of Light appeared in 2017 was on the fifth Sunday of Lent, April 2.

For many centuries the fifth Sunday of Lent was known as Passion Sunday and the beginning of Passiontide by the Catholic Church.

Furthermore, this sun phenomena has occurred every year on my residence since 2005 during different occasions, including Lent, Holy Week, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. It also appeared in September 2015 while Pope Francis was visiting the USA.

I spoke to my Spiritual director, Fr. Richard Tartaglia on Monday, April 10, and shared the news about the Cross of Light appearing at my residence.

Fr. Richard Tartaglia - 2012
In addition, this sun phenomena has been verified by my spiritual director, Fr. Richard Tartaglia of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Denville, New Jersey.

Fr. Richard photographed the Cross of Light on Good Friday, April 6, 2012. Moreover, Fr. Richard spoke about the Cross of Light during his homily at St. Mary's Evening Prayer Service held on April 19, 2012.

Here's a link to view the video of Fr. Richard's homily which also includes information regarding other people that have witnessed a Cross of Light in other areas: Cross of Light Appears in New Jersey

Jesus said,"I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness." John 12:46

I attributes this sign sent from Our Heavenly Father as result of prayers to Jesus, Our Blessed Mother, and Saint Michael the Archangel for assistance, and with times of spiritual renewal of my Christian faith, such as Lent, as well as praying for God's protection.

Cross of Light - 2017
Additional facts can be read on these links: Cross of Light Appears During Lent and Holy Week  and Signs from Heaven

In 2008, the Gloucester County Times reported a similar story of a cross photographed by 9 year old Gwynna Crawford on Easter Sunday in Pitman, New Jersey. The cross appeared on a neighbor's house. The article indicated that Gwyanna's mother and the neighbor were unable to find the source of the sun reflection.

More information about the Gloucester County Times story with a photograph can be seen on this link: Cross Appears on Easter Sunday in Pitman, NJ

I believe the Cross of Light is a sign from God to those that have left the church: Return to the sacraments, especially reconciliation during Holy Week and to celebrate Easter.

Info from Catholic Online: St. Patrick of Ireland is one of the world's most popular saints. He was born in Roman Britain and when he was fourteen or so, he was captured by Irish pirates during a raiding party and taken to Ireland as a slave to herd and tend sheep.

At the time, Ireland was a land of Druids and pagans but Patrick turned to God and wrote his memoir, The Confession. In The Confession, he wrote: "The love of God and his fear grew in me more and more, as did the faith, and my soul was rosed, so that, in a single day, I have said as many as a hundred prayers and in the night, nearly the same. I prayed in the woods and on the mountain, even before dawn. I felt no hurt from the snow or ice or rain."

Patrick's captivity lasted until he was twenty, when he escaped after having a dream from God in which he was told to leave Ireland by going to the coast. There he found some sailors who took him back to Britain and was reunited with his family.

Monthly Messages from Our Lady of Medjugorje

The Medjugorje Web - Apparitions of the Virgin Mary in Medjugorje

March 2, 2017 Message to Mirjana Soldo

"Dear children, With motherly love I am coming to help you to have more love and that means more faith. I am coming to help you to live with love the words of my Son, so that the world would be different. Therefore, apostles of my love, I am gathering you around myself. Look at me with the heart, speak to me as to a mother about your pains, sufferings and your joys. Ask me to pray to my Son for you. My Son is merciful and just. My motherly heart would desire for you also to be like that. My motherly heart would desire that you, apostles of my love, speak of my Son and of me to all those around you with your life; so that the world would be different; that simplicity and purity would return; that faith and hope would return. Therefore, my children, pray, pray, pray with the heart, pray with love, pray with good works. Pray that everyone would come to know my Son, so that the world would change, that the world would be saved. With love live the words of my Son. Do not judge, instead love one another so that my heart could triumph. Thank you."

February 25, 2017 Message to Marija Pavolic

"Dear children! Today I am calling you to profoundly live your faith and to implore the Most High to strengthen it, so that winds and storms cannot break it. May the roots of your faith be prayer and hope in eternal life. Already now, little children, work on yourselves in this time of grace, wherein God is giving you the grace - through renunciation and the call to conversion - to be people of clear and persevering faith and hope. Thank you for having responded to my call."

Scientific Evidence of Eucharistic Miracles

News excerpt from RomeReports.com

These two authors are on a journey: For 10 years they've studied countless documents and traveled throughout Europe to show scientific evidence of Eucharistic miracles. The recently presented their findings in Poland's embassy to the Vatican.

It's a book that includes more than 40 photographs of miracles and scientific conclusions explaining what happened.

JANUSZ ROSIKON, Photographer

"On the exhibition, I show the small Host that changes into a piece of heart. That was unbelievable. When I saw that through my camera that one little piece was a Host and the rest was a human heart. We meet also with this scientist who examined it, and he told us that it's absolutely a piece of human heart. We have to believed it.”

The book's title roughly translates to: 'Secret Evidence: Investigating the Supernatural.'

Gazergorz Gorny and photographer Janusz Rosikon are very proud of the final product.

JANUSZ KOTANSKI, Ambassador of Poland to the Vatican

"We live in the 21st century and people are thinking 'well no more miracles, Jesus has done some miracles but a long time ago.' But that exhibition proves that there are still miracles and that Christ is still alive. And people they don´t have to just believe in miracles because they are also scientifically proven.”

8-year-old boy prays to the Blessed Sacrament, obtains healing for his family

Worldwide Catholic Network Sharing Faith Resources for those seeking Truth – Aleteia.org

Excerpt from Aleteia.org: Diego's faith in Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament changed his family's reality of abuse, alcoholism and poverty.

Patricio Hileman, the priest responsible for building Perpetual Adoration chapels all throughout Latin America, shared the touching testimony of Diego, an 8-year-old Mexican boy whose faith in the Blessed Sacrament transformed his family’s reality, marked by problems related to domestic violence, alcoholism and poverty.

The story happened in MĂ©rida, the capital city of YucatĂ¡n, Mexico, right in the first chapel of Perpetual Adoration that the Missionaries of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament established in the city.

Father Hileman told ACI Group that the little boy heard him preaching that “those who are willing to be at vigil at dawn, Jesus will bless a hundred times more.”

“I would also say that Jesus invites his friends to the Holy Hour, and that he would also ask them: ‘Can not you watch an hour with me?’” recalled the Argentine priest.

His words made the child decide to start his vigil at 3:00 in the morning, something that naturally caught the attention of his mother, to whom the boy explained that he would do it because “I want my dad to stop drinking, and that we can no longer be poor.”

During the first week, the mother accompanied him. The second week, Diego invited his father.

“A month later, they began to participate in perpetual adoration, and the father testified that he had experienced the love of Jesus, and was healed.” Right after that, “he fell in love with his wife, during those holy hours,” Hileman said. “The father stopped drinking, and fighting with his wife, and they were able to leave poverty behind. Because of the faith of an 8-year-old child, a whole family was healed.”

Unfailing Prayer to Saint Anthony - Free Art Print

Unfailing Prayer To Saint Anthony

Blessed be God in His Angels and in His Saints

St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints, your love for God and charity for his creatures, made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Miracles waited on your word, which you were ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this thought, I ask you to obtain for me the favors that I seek (mention your request here).

The answer to my prayer may require a miracle, even so, you are the Saint of Miracles.

O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was full of sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the Infant Jesus, who loved to be held in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours.

Amen.

Our Lady's Message of January 2, 2017

Our Lady of Medjugorje: Message of January 2, 2017 to Mirjana Soldo

"Dear children, My Son was the source of love and light when he spoke on earth to the people of all peoples. My apostles, follow His light. This is not easy. You must be little. You must make yourselves smaller than others; with the help of faith to be filled with His love. Not a single person on earth can experience a miraculous experience without faith. I am with you. I am making myself known to you by these comings, by these words; I desire to witness to you my love and motherly care. My children, do not waste time posing questions to which you never receive an answer. At the end of your journey on earth, the Heavenly Father will give them to you. Always know that God knows everything; God sees, God loves. My most beloved Son illuminates lives, dispels darkness; and my motherly love which carries me to you is inexpressible, mysterious but real. I am expressing my feelings to you: love, understanding and motherly benevolence. Of you, my apostles, I am asking for your roses of prayer which need to be acts of love. To my motherly heart these are the dearest prayers. I offer these to my Son who was born for your sake. He looks at you and hears you. We are always close to you. This is the love which calls, unites, converts, encourages and fulfills. Therefore, my apostles, always love one another and above all, love my Son. This is the only way to salvation, to eternal life. This is my dearest prayer which fills my heart with the most beautiful scent of roses. Pray, always pray for your shepherds that they may have the strength to be the light of my Son. Thank you."

Happy New Year 2017

May 2017 begin with God's blessing of peace and prosperity to people of good will!

This is what the LORD says— he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters, "Do not remember the things that have happened before. Do not think about the things of the past. See, I will do a new thing. It will begin happening now. Will you not know about it? I will even make a road in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."  (Isaiah 43:16, 18-19)
